Feeding Counseling at Kidz Care Children's Hospital

About Feeding Counseling

Feeding counselling helps mothers and families with breastfeeding — latching, supply, pain and positioning — and later with starting solid foods at around six months.

Good feeding support in the early weeks makes a big difference to a baby's weight gain and a mother's confidence.

When to bring your child

  • Painful or difficult breastfeeding
  • Worries about milk supply or baby's weight gain
  • Starting solid foods around 6 months
  • A premature baby going home from the NICU
